The Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) Network, an initiative of the Institute for Health System Transformation and Sustainability (IHSTS), is at the forefront of transforming community services for individuals living with Type 2 Diabetes.


With over 1.5 million residents in BC diagnosed with diabetes or prediabetes in 2023, and 80% of care being delivered in community settings, the T2D Network aims to unite patients, caregivers, providers, and organizations to enhance T2D prevention and self-management efforts—taking cultural differences into account.

Position Summary

The T2D Network is seeking an organized, accountable, and proactive individual to serve as the T2D Network Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Director, T2D Network, this role is key in ensuring the effective coordination of activities and projects that support the Network’s mission.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director in project planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring that project milestones are met.

  • Coordinate communication, marketing, event planning, and knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Act as a liaison between the Director, team members, and partners, facilitating smooth communication to ensure project progress.

  • Assist in identifying risks and develop solutions to resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

  • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project) to track activities and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Help engage partners and stakeholders in the Network’s activities, fostering collaboration and advancing T2D prevention and self-management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of project coordination experience, preferably in healthcare or a nonprofit setting.

  • Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic understanding of project management principles and familiarity with project management software.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, take initiative, and solve problems effectively.


Work Environment

  • This is a three-quarter time, virtual position, with occasional travel to Metro Vancouver.

  • Flexible working hours, with potential for full-time employment based on mutual agreement.


Remuneration

  • Hourly rate ranges from $45 to $55, based on education and experience.
