Disability now impacts 1.3 billion people worldwide, about 16% of the global population, including 100 million in the EU and 16 million in the UK. As populations age, these numbers are expected to rise even further. According to a recent report from the UK's Royal Society, technology must evolve to better meet the needs of disabled people.
